Coveya is a community-powered app that helps people find safe, clean public toilets. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Location data. When you use features that require your location (such as finding nearby toilets or emergency GPS mode), the app requests access to your device's location. Location is only accessed while the app is in use — we do not track you in the background.
Community reviews. When you submit a review, you may optionally provide a display name. Reviews are anonymous by default. We store the content you submit (ratings, comments, optional name) in our database.
User-contributed locations. If you add a toilet location, we store the details you provide (name, address, coordinates, facilities).
Saved toilets & preferences. Saved toilet IDs and search history are stored locally on your device using your device's storage — they are not sent to our servers.
Community data (reviews, locations) is stored on secured PostgreSQL servers hosted by Replit. We take reasonable technical measures to protect this data. No internet transmission is 100% secure; please do not submit sensitive personal information in reviews.
The app includes a link to our Ko-fi page. Any contributions are processed directly by Ko-fi under their own privacy policy. Coveya does not handle any payment information.
Coveya is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
